Abstract

To discuss the changing scenario of the domestic tourism in India’s Northeast region, particularly Assam, this research note discovers the growing interest among the domestic tourist from and to Northeast India through the observation and opinion of the tour operators in this region. The study explores the socio-cultural  transformation of the attitude of domestic tourists of and towards this region through the reflective discussion that shows the approximate number of domestic tourists from and to Northeast India, destinations frequently chosen by the people and the socio-economic background of the tourists.
